Police have uncovered an Aladdin’s cave of high value power tools after a man spotted one of his stolen items for sale on an online auction site.
The 56-year-old victim had more than £1,000 worth of power tools stolen from his van while it was parked in Salisbury Avenue, Finchley, last month.
After the man saw one of his grinders for sale on eBay, he contacted officers in Barnet who were able to identify the account holder's name and address.
They executed a search warrant at the address in Harold Road, Ealing, and found a large number of power tools which the occupiers could not account for.
A 62-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and have been bailed to a date in April.
Officers have released images of tools found at the address to try to find their rightful owners.
To view the tools go to flic.kr/s/aHsjVTRtHk and if you can identify your property contact police on 101 or email PC Ben NG at Ben.ng@met.police.uk
