A teenager has been left in a serious condition after he was stabbed in Cricklewood.

Police were called to Lichfield Road at 5pm on Sunday where an 18-year-old boy was suffering from stab wounds to the leg.

Officers cordoned off part of the road as an ambulance arrived to rush the boy to hospital.

Rahab Altae, 26, watched from her window as police and paramedics rushed to the aid of the boy.

She said: “I could see a big crowd on the other side of the street. Then I saw the boy’s leg – there was blood all over it.

“I was scared – really scared. I’ve never seen anything like it before.

“The next day I saw blood on the pavement all the way from the bridge near the station in Cricklewood Lane to where the boy ended up outside. Everybody was looking at the blood. It wasn’t nice.”

Detectives investigating the incident believe the teenager was stabbed in nearby Cricklewood Lane.

Vitalis Karavasilidis, 30, who lives in Lichfield Road, said: “I used to live in Hackney which everyone thought was a rough place to live – but I never saw anything. I moved here last September and now there’s a stabbing. I thought this was supposed to be a peaceful area.

“It’s quite scary to think this has happened – I have a two-and-a-half-year-old son. It’s crazy.”

No arrests have been made.
