A minicab and courier company has pledged to donate £10,000 to support the development of a school library.

GLH’s company directors have championed the Archer Academy since it was going through the planning process, and have continued to support the school since it opened across the road from their offices in East Finchley last September.

The school will use the donation to buy more books.

Headteacher Mick Quigley said: "On behalf of everyone at the school, I would like to thank GLH for this generous donation, which will enrich the learning experience of each and every one of our students.

“English is one of the specialisms at the Archer Academy, so it is particularly important to us to be able to offer our students a wide a range of fiction, as well as advanced facilities for research.”

Rob Scott, GLH’s managing director, said: “Self-expression is fundamental to a child’s development.

"A library is key to this and we hope our small donation aids the children of Archer Academy in their discovery of and experimentation with new forms of visual and verbal communication.”
