A “thoughtful” mother who was nominated for an award by her children has been crowned the winner of a competition.

Tracey Light was stunned when her children, Reece and Darcie, nominated her for The Broadwalk Centre’s Mother’s Day Star Award.

The Edgware resident won a hamper of prizes, including a specially engraved award, flowers, chocolates and perfume just in time for Mothers Day, on Sunday.

She was presented with the award by Broadwalk staff member Darren Saich over the weekend.

In his nomination, Reece wrote: “My mummy is kindest most gentle person to grace the planet. She is a hard worker, very thoughtful and co-operative.

“She would do anything for me and my little sister. She is an animal lover and vegetarian. She is respectful to everyone and loves to share kind thoughts.

“She takes us out on the weekend for lunch with my grandma and step-dad. She is up early in the morning to walk us to school and take the dogs for a long refreshing walk.

“She is always there for us when we need her and supports us all the way. She cooks us a lovely meal every night for the whole family - including the dogs.”
