Hundreds of people attended a business breakfast to pitch ideas on how to help revive Potters Bar.
More than 30 business owners were invited to comment on Hertsmere Borough Council’s new economic development strategies.
The document looks at ways to improve high streets, support businesses and create more jobs in the area.
During the event, Hertsmere Borough Council’s chief executive Donald Graham said: “Hertsmere is a great place to live and work and has a diverse and relatively strong economy already but we have enormous potential to grow even further.
“The council has great ambition in this area and we want to work in partnership with all of our stakeholders, including public, private and community organisations, as well as local residents, to drive our economy forward.
“It’s vital that Hertsmere’s economy continues to grow and prosper and we welcome all views on the draft strategy. Feedback will be used to inform the final strategy and resulting action plans to ensure our economic prosperity and improve everyone’s quality of life.”
