Churchgoers carried a large wooden cross through the streets of Barnet as part of a traditional religious walk.

Dozens of people took part in two Walk of Witness events in Hendon and Totteridge on Friday.

The Reverend Tim Seago, the priest-in-charge of St. Andrew's in Totteridge, carried a cross representing Christ on the road to Calvary, as parishioners followed behind him.

Rev Seago led the way from Totteridge & Whetstone Station, down Totteridge Lane and up the hill to Totteridge Common and St. Andrew's Church.

At the same time, 125 people took part in this year’s Churches Together Walk of Witness in Hendon.

The group walked a circular route from Egerton Gardens to Hendon Central via The Burroughs, singing hymns outside Hendon Central Station and Brent Street Post Office.

Members of West Hendon and Finchley Lane Baptists took part in the annual event, as well as Hendon Methodists, Christ Church and St. Mary’s and the Roman Catholic Church, Our Lady of Dolours in Egerton Gardens.
