A mother will warn people about the signs of ovarian cancer at a fun day today after her own tumour went undetected for nearly five years.
Zaynab Mirza, of Beaufort Park, Hendon, had to travel to Bahrain to have her cancer removed after receiving little support from doctors in England.
After having a hysterectomy, the 45-year-old make-up artist wants to ensure no one else suffers the same pain she went through.
She is inviting people to Stephens House, in East End Road, East Finchley, to raise money for the Eve Appeal, Target Ovarian Cancer and Ovarian Cancer Action.
It will feature a kids lounge to help children understand cancer, a retail lounge, a beauty and pamper area, and meditation and education rooms.
The free event will be held noon to 10pm today.
