A theatre group will take to the stage to perform a charity performance in aid of a homeless charity this summer.

Finchley Youth Centre in High Road, East Finchley, will host Fixation Theatre’s Spare Change event from 7.30pm on July 10 in aid of Homeless Action Barnet.

The audience will get to be a part of the set as they are greeted in a soup kitchen, before the event gets underway with musical performances, drama monologues and poetry.

Young people from Fixation’s Youth Theatre and Film Makers will also showcase a short drama and film about homelessness.

Laura Davitt, artistic director of Fixation Theatre Company, said: “At Fixation we wanted to give our young people an opportunity to make a positive difference to something that has a daily impact on most individuals in London, whether that may mean witnessing homelessness on your local streets, giving a friend a sofa for a few nights, or have had the unfortunate circumstances of being homeless.

“Homelessness is a struggle many face, with many members of society also struggling to find work, pay bills and live, having somewhere to call home. For some this is a distant dream or not even achievable.”
