Families can sign up for free bike rides across the borough this summer.

Barnet Borough Council has joined forces with British Cycling to bring Go Sky Ride Local back to Barnet.

Go Sky Ride is an initiative that offers free bike rides to cyclists of all abilities.

The sessions will start from Sunday July 13 at Oak Hill Park, where families can take part in a four-mile cycle.

Further rides will take place in July, August, September and October, with the final ride taking place at Mill Hill Park on Sunday October 26.

Councillor Helena Hart, the council’s health and wellbeing board chairman, said: “The Sky Rides were a great success last year and I am delighted to see them back in Barnet. Cycling has increased in popularity across London and that is certainly the case in Barnet – especially since the 2012 Olympics.”
