RAF Museum receives award for Dornier 17 campaign
The Royal Air Force Museum has been awarded for its campaign to restore the only surviving German Second World War Dornier 17 bomber.
The plane was lifted from the English Channel and restored piece by piece before being displayed in the RAF Museum in Grahame Park Way, Colindale.
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations has awarded the museum an excellence award in the not for profit category for its campaign.
The campaign was headed by the museum's PR manager, Ajay Srivastava, who said: "The Dornier campaign was challenging, exhilarating, complex and a historically significant project which ultimately led to phenomenal worldwide coverage.
"I am incredibly proud for the museum to receive this accolade from the CIPR as staff across the board gave their time and efforts to support me in making this campaign one of its most successful."
