Pupils formed a giant 80 on their school field to kick-start their school’s anniversary celebrations.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of St James’ Catholic High School, which was founded in 1934 in Great Strand, Colindale.

To commemorate the milestone, the school has arranged a number of activities and events to celebrate, including an aerial photograph of students forming a giant 80, as well as fundraising activities and masses.

The highlight of the 80th anniversary celebrations will be a visit to the school by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster.

During his visit, the cardinal will celebrate mass for current students, meet with members of our sixth form and officially open a peace garden specially designed and constructed by Year Seven students.

On Sunday July 13 at 3pm, the school will host a mass for former staff and students.
