A group of electrical workers organised a variety of fundraising activities in aid of a cancer charity.
Staff at UK Power Networks offices in Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, raised £320 for Prostate Cancer UK by holding a dress-down day, which included games and a cake sale.
Tamara Partridge, the company’s programmes manager in Potters Bar, said: “We often do fundraising to raise money for breast cancer charities but we thought this time it was really important to raise money and awareness about men’s cancers too.”
Mark Bishop, director of fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “It is with support like this that we can help provide dedicated support and information to men and their families affected by prostate cancer and fund research to help fight the disease.
“With more than 40,000 men diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in the UK and one man dying every hour, it is our aim to help more men survive the disease and enjoy a better quality of life.”
