A family will host a fun day to highlight the need for more children's activities.

Tammi Morley-Sutcliffe and her brother Justin Morley-Sutcliffe are working alongside Barnet Community Projects to put on a free family fun day on the green in Chesterfield Road, Barnet, on Sunday, August 31.

There will be bouncy castles, face painting, music, and a variety of activities including a bungee run and a penalty shoot out.

There will also be stalls available to hire for £20 - all proceeds from the event will go towards providing clubs and activities for young people in the area.

Mr Morley-Sutcliffe said: "There's nothing for young people to do in the area. There's a park and that's about it. We want this to be the start of providing fun activities for young people."

Volunteers are needed for the event, as well sponsorship money. To get involved email morleys4@hotmail.com

As well as campaigning for better children's activities, Mr Morley-Sutcliffe is also keen to improve road safety in Chesterfield Road after his eight-year-old nephew was knocked down on his bike last month.

He has launched a petition which has been backed by neighbours as well as nearby schools.
