A hospital which first opened in the 1960s has changed its name.

BMI The Garden Hospital, in Sunny Gardens road, Hendon, has changed its name to BMI Hendon Hospital.

Bosses say the name change reflects how the hospital has grown over the years, and is now able to provide more complex treatments than when it first opened 45 years ago.

How on earth does changing the name from Garden Hospital to Hendon Hospital "reflect how the hospital has grown over the years, and is now able to provide more complex treatments than when it first opened 45 years ago"?

What twaddle! The name change simply reflects the fact that the hospital is (1) in Hendon and (2) not in a garden.

(But I must add that, in my own experience, it's probably the best private hospital in the area.)

They felt the need to reinvent themselves as they have to compete with other larger private hospitals and want us all to know that they are just as good, with as much expertise etc as the others and for us, residents of LBB, so close to home!

I agree that the Garden Hospital is "just as good, with as much expertise etc as the others", but changing the name to Hendon Hospital doesn't tell us that.
