People with learning difficulties got into the swing of things when they helped out at a charity golf day.

More than 80 players took part in a match to raise money for Jewish charity Norwood, based in Stanmore and Hendon.

The event, held at Dyrham Park Country Club in Galley Lane, Barnet, and sponsored by firm CJ O’Shea, raised £50,000 for the charity.

Adam Goodman, who is supported by Norwood to live independently and volunteered to serve refreshments at the event, said: "I had a really great day yesterday, I enjoyed meeting lots of people who were really friendly and taught me lots about golf.

“I enjoyed making sure everyone had plenty of refreshments on the course. They were a lovely bunch of people and I wanted to say thank you for everyone raising much needed money for a fantastic charity.”

Norwood’s Kennedy Leigh Family Centre is based in Edgeworth Close, Hendon, and its head office is in The Broadway, Stanmore.
