Hundreds have been left without electricity after a power cut in Barnet this morning.

UK Power Networks is reporting that 737 householders in the Barnet area have not had power since 9.06am this morning.

A total of 2,132 householders experienced a surge – but electricity was restored to 1,395 householders by 9.08am.

The power cut is also affecting Barnet Borough Council's offices in North London Business Park in Oakleigh Road South.

Engineers on site are currently working to fix the problem.

A statement from the power comnpany said: “We understand how frustrating it can be to lose power and apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused while we work to fix the fault.”
