Children had a taste of the glitz and glamour of the West End when they helped raise money for charities.

Top Hat Stage School, in Potters Bar, took its pupils to the Royal Drury Lane Theatre in a show supporting the Royal Marsden Hospital and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

The 31 children who took part had a masterclass in performing on a West End stage before performing dance numbers in front of 2,000 guests.

It also coincided with the stage school’s 20th anniversary. They met celebrity guests including West End star Sam Bailey and BBC The Voice contestant Leanne Jarvis.

Warren Bacci, principal of Top Hat, said: “The children have been working really hard since the beginning of the year for this show and all of their hard work has really paid off.

“It was an incredible experience, and the children were so professional, and didn't show any signs of nerves.

“The children put their heart and soul into their performances, and were truly inspirational. It was a very emotional night.”

“We are so grateful to all of the children’s families who have supported us through this journey to put on this amazing show, and we are so thrilled to be able to help the Royal Marsden and Noah’s Ark.”
