Terminally ill children and their families had a “much needed dose of fun” as they explored a farm at a summer fete.

Starlight Children’s Foundation held its annual summer party at Belmont Children’s Farm, in the Ridgeway, Mill Hill, which included tractor rides, face painting and RAF displays.

They were also given the chance to make friends with a host of furry, four-legged and feathered animals as well as play football with Chelsea FC mascot Stamford the Lion.

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, an ambassador for the charity, also dropped in to take part in the day’s events.

Neil Swan, chief executive of Starlight Children’s Foundation, said: “Starlight aims to bring smiles and laughter to seriously and terminally ill children and Starlight’s summer party is a very special event that gives a huge number of families a much-needed dose of fun.

“We are immensely grateful to Andrew Reid, the owner of Belmont Children’s Farm, his team, and our many volunteers and supporters for making it such a special day for our young guests.”
