Firefighters tackled a house fire in Edgware.

Around 20 firefighters and officers from Mill Hill, Finchley and Hendon fire stations put out the blaze. Initial reports suggested the roof was on fire, but it has now been confirmed the fire was confined to the first floor of the semi-detached house.

A total of four engines from London Fire Brigade were called to the scene in Warwick Avenue at 10.51am.

The fire was under control by 11.35am.

The cause is not known at this stage and is being investigated.
