A charity is “relieved” after moving into its new home – just weeks after it was handed an eviction notice.

ADDIS, which supports people with attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), were given six weeks to up and leave their office in Premier House, Edgware.

But after weeks of uncertainty, they are finally settling into their new office in The Burroughs, Hendon.

Charity director Andrea Bilbow, chief executive of ADDIS, is now asking people to roll up their sleeves and help redecorate the building.

She said: “To have the kind of pressure of not knowing where you’re going to work from when running a charity is unthinkable.

“Everything had to be put on hold, it was awfully disruptive. However, it’s onwards and upwards for us now.

“We are really excited and looking forward to being in our new building.”

She praised GLA member for Barnet Andrew Dismore, who offered "tireless help" in helping the charity find a new home.

The team is looking for people who can lend a hand with painting and decorating and who can donate carpets or flooring.

They are also hoping to raise £5,000 to cover the cost of moving and are appealing for donations from the public.

After receiving the keys this morning, they hope to officially move into their new office in three weeks time.

She added: “We’re more in the heart of Barnet now. It’s a new start, a new journey, and we are looking forward to it.”
