Disabled children and their parents took part in a sports day to help provide support during the summer break.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, in Victors Way, Barnet held its annual event at Ashmole Academy, in Southgate.

The event saw them compete in volleyball, tennis and cheerleading tournaments, including those in wheelchairs.

It ended with a relay race before a certificate presentation.

Dottie Greenwood, family activities worker at the hospice, said: “For many of the families we support it’s not always that easy for them to find leisure opportunities that they can all enjoy together.

“Even where opportunities do exist, they do not always extend to all members of the family. Today’s sports day is an excellent way for the children and their parents to try out some new activities and have fun together.”
