Awareness and action against cannabis and human trafficking will be top of the agenda for police in Hertsmere this week.

Hertfordshire Constabulary, which includes Potters Bar, launched a pro-active awareness and action against cannabis week yesterday.

The week will hold a particular focus on the role the illegal drug plays in serious crimes, including human trafficking.

The force will be executing a number of warrants and issuing messages on social media throughout the week about the dangers of cannabis, along with the role cannabis cultivation plays in serious and organised crime.

Chief Superintendent Bill Jephson from Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “Hertfordshire Constabulary takes a robust stance against all drugs including cannabis and this week of action highlights the levels we are prepared to go to in order to both educate the public about this drug and eradicate it from the streets of Hertfordshire.”

They should have done it in the Summer.
Send a foot patrol up our street and knock on a few doors when they smell the waft from the gardens and the open windows.
Or have sniffer dogs on the high street on a Saturday night.
"Awarenes" is no good without action. Are they going to prosecute or just caution if they catch people?
