Teenagers will clock up 500 hours of volunteering across north London this weekend.

Staff and volunteers from Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, in Barnet, will be joined by nearly 100 15 to 17-year-olds for a range of events.

The teenagers will be getting involved as part of a National Citizen Service (NCS) project with The Challenge, a charity which aims to help community integration.

They will be packing bags at supermarkets in Brent Cross, Colindale and Golders Green, and taking part in a challenge to create the world's longest string of bunting at The Spires Shopping Centre, High Barnet, on Saturday.

Over the summer, seven teams of young people from across north London visited the hospice as part of National Citizen Service to find out more about the charity’s work.

Organiser Beth McGlue said: “Each of the teams have been really inspired and are really looking forward to making a positive difference to Noah’s Ark and the young people they support this weekend.”
