A student is in line for a business award after working at Rolls-Royce.
Andrew Savvides, from East Finchley, will compete for the ‘Year in Industry’ award, after spending the last year on a work placement with Rolls-Royce. A total of nine candidates were selected for the award, chosen for the contribution they made to the companies they worked for.
Mr Savvides, who left Dame Alice Owen School in Potters Bar last year, said: “Working on a live and important project in a real commercial environment at Rolls-Royce has been of immense benefit to me before I go on to study mechanical engineering at Sheffield University in October.”
The ceremony will take place next Thursday in central London.
