Care workers are on strike for a second week running.

Unison members at Your Choice Barnet (YCB), which provides social care in the borough, are taking the action over a pay dispute.

Picket lines were set up this morning outside Flower Lane Day Centre in Flower Lane, Mill Hill and Rosa Morison Day Centre in Gloucester Road, Barnet.

Your Choice Barnet has announced it is due to meet with Unison and ACAS, an arbirtration service for workplace disputes, next Monday for further discussions.

A spokesman for Your Choice Barnet said: "YCB staff who rejected Unison's call to strike this week are continuing to support customers across YCB's six schemes on the third day of strike action. As last week, specialist services Flower Lane and Rosa Morison are forced to close, but again some of their customers are being supported from Valley Way respite service.

"Customers of CommunitySpace day service, BILS day service, Supported Living services and Valley Way are having services provided as usual with minimal disruption to their routine and family lives."
