A museum volunteer who goes the extra mile was commended at an awards ceremony.
Ian Corfield, the leader of the vehicle team at the RAF Museum in Grahame Park Way, Colindale, was one of 20 staff from more than 70 museums whose work was celebrated at the Jewish Museum in Camden on Wednesday.
Over the years, Mr Corfield has built an active volunteer workforce to help with the smooth running of the museum.
Access development manager David Keen said: “Ian is a real inspiration. He has changed his days at the museum to assist with the training of our apprentices and has co-operated fully to direct members of the volunteer workforce to where they can be most effective.
“All of this has contributed enormously to the high standard of conservation and display of our large three dimensional artefacts.”
