Jewellery with “great sentimental value” was stolen during a burglary.

It was taken from a house in Mount Grace Road, Potters Bar, on August 23 between 1.30pm and 9.15pm.

The thieves ransacked the house after breaking in through a patio door.

They stole a pair of blue, oval-shaped cufflinks, a pair of pearl cufflinks and a flower-shaped white gold ring with diamonds.

Other pieces of jewellery taken include a black heart pendant necklace, a gold and amethyst gem stone ring, a three diamond ring and a pearl and diamond ring.

Detectives have released photos of similar items.

An Apple Mac laptop, some euros and a black men’s Rotary watch were also stolen.

Detective Constable David Boden said: “These items are of great sentimental value to the victim and many of them are quite distinctive. I would like to hear from anyone who has been offered jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances or anyone who knows of the possible whereabouts of the items taken.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who recalls seeing anyone or anything suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary. Any information, however insignificant it may seem, may prove useful to our investigation.”
