A lecturer is getting ready to showcase his film at the BFI London Film Festival.

Middlesex University animation lecturer Robert Bradbrook, 49, will premiere his animated film Dead Air, at the festival next Friday and Saturday.

The story revolves around a tranquil island, the bridge that is being built to it, and the fear this development instils in the island community.

Mr Bradbrook, who has worked at the university for four years, said: “The underlying message of the film is a hopeful one. Communities have been developing and people have been arriving from faraway places since the year dot. In essence - it’s not something to worry about.”
