A mental health charity welcomed the Mayor of Barnet as they celebrated a Jewish festival.
Councillor Hugh Rayner visited Jami House, in Golders Green, into its succah, a temporary hut erected as part of the Succot festival.
Cllr Rayner learnt about how the Jewish people celebrate the festival by erecting succahs and eating or sleeping in them to remember how simple huts sheltered the Israelites in the wilderness after they were freed from slavery in Egypt.
One Jami House clinet read poems she had written especially for his visit.
