A foodbank was given a boost by a supermarket’s donation.

Asda Colindale made the £150 donation of non-perishable foods to Colindale Foodbank, which is based at the Novo Centre, Grahame Park.

Representatives from the foodbank collected the donation in store on Wednesday, as well as explaining the work the foodbank does.

Vanitha Kumar, community life champion at Asda Colindale, said: “We were extremely honoured to work with Colindale Foodbank. They provide a great deal of help and support for the local community and a lot of families.

“We couldn’t have been happier showing our appreciation by helping as much as we could with this donation and raising awareness.”

Wonu Yoloye, a representative from Colindale Foodbank, said: “We were incredibly grateful to Asda Colindale for supporting us with this generous donation. With an increasing number of people falling on hard times and now using foodbanks, donations like this are extremely valued and critical in helping us continue our work and Asda’s will go a long way.”
