The future of libraries and four nurseries in Barnet will be discussed at next week’s full council meeting on Tuesday.

Both issues were referred to full council after four Labour members of the children, education, libraries and safeguarding committee voted to do so on Tuesday.

Libraries face closure, a reduction in size and being left unstaffed under proposals to help the committee save £8million.

Four nursery schools in the borough face a change to their funding and structure.
