Police will be launching two campaigns to target burglars this autumn and help residents to make their homes more secure.
The Hertfordshire Constabulary campaign Operation Scorpion will target burglars and thieves, while Operation Guardian will provide crime prevention advice to residents.
Police will be working with Community Safety Partners, local councils, Hertfordshire County Council and Herts Fire and Rescue Service to deliver advice and help vulnerable members of the community to keep their homes secure.
Officers will be visiting train and bus stations to give crime prevention advice to commuters, who may leave homes empty during the day and don’t return until after dark.
They will also be visiting residential areas to give away free burglary prevention packs and offering advice on keeping homes and valuables safe.
