A Baywatch star swapped the beaches of Los Angeles for the leafy suburb of Mill Hill for his new show.

David Hasselhoff has spent the last few days working with stand-up comedians at Mill Hill County School for his new mockumentary, Hoff the Record.

The singer and actor, best known for playing Michael Knight in 1980s US television series Knight Rider and lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in Baywatch, seemed happy with his big opportunity to improvise on the show, due to be broadcast on Dave.

Mr Hasselhoff said the set was like going to a “real preppy school' but was laid back about working in the UK.

He said: “Actors are actors, sometimes the lines and expressions are different and it is hard to understand the accents and stuff at times, but these guys are professionals who have come to play.

“The world is changing especially in television right now, there has been better writing and much more improvisational and loose shooting.”

This is the first time the former Britain's Got Talent judge has spent time in Mill Hill and he has enjoyed spending time at the Rising Sun pub, where he took his fellow cast members.

Chef at The Rising Sun, Roberto Delnevo was delighted to be cooking for the television star. He said: “Who didn't watch Baywatch as a kid? Everybody wanted a car like his and everyone wanted to be with Pamela Anderson.”

He added: “I don't really know if I will return to Mill Hill but I would come back for lunch that is for sure.”

After spending time in Mill Hill, Mr Hasselhoff jetted off to film a music video in Sweden.
