Families with children starting school next September can find out more about a new free school.

The Bellevue Place Education Trust plans to open Watling Park School in Burnt Oak next September.

A site is still to be found for the school, which will provide places for 60 pupils in its Reception classes.

Sessions for parents to find out more will take place at St Alphage Church Hall, at the junction of Playfield Road and Montrose Avenue, Burnt Oak next Tuesday, from 2pm to 3.30pm, and on Friday, December 12 from 4pm to 6.30pm at the same venue.

The school will also hold drop-in consultation events an hour before both sessions.

Claire Delaney, chairman of Bellevue Place Education Trust, said: “Watling Park School has been set up in response to local support for our proposals and to help meet the need for additional primary places. We are currently working with the Education Funding Agency to secure a site in the Burnt Oak area of Barnet.

“We hope to meet many members of the local community at our events. Together, we will create an excellent local school that fulfils local needs”.

The school has set up a consultation area on its website at www.watlingparkschool.org.uk. The consultation will close on 17 December.

Parents can book places at the sessions online at www.watlingparkschool.org.uk/events, or by calling 0845 459 0113.
