After yesterday’s terrorist attack in a Jerusalem synagogue, a man put pen to paper to write a poem summing up his feelings of war.

Emmanuel Miller, who was born and raised in Hendon before moving to Israel, said he felt compelled to write the piece in response to the “absurd” situation.

If I should be murdered

If I should be murdered

Walking on a street

By a knife to my back

Tell my mother I love her.

If I should be murdered

Waiting at a train station

By a "forgotten bag" that blows up

Let my father know he's my hero.

If I should be murdered

Praying in a synagogue

By an axe to the chest

Whisper a prayer for me.

If I should be murdered

On the bus to university

By a rock thrown at my head

Know that I am friends with the Arab driver.

If I should be murdered

In a restaurant with friends

By a returning suicide bomber

Don't blame me, world. Don't blame me.
