A curry house was named one of the best in the capital at a “glitzy” award ceremony.
Bayleaf Restaurant, in High Road, Whetstone, was awarded the newcomer of the year 2014 title at the Asian Curry Awards.
Bayleaf was up against other restaurants across London and was judged on its hygiene, food authenticity and freshness.
Restaurant owner Tofozzul Miah said: “It’s an honour and a privilege to win this. It makes me feel good beating all the newcomers across London.
“It was a glitzy night.”
Held at the London Hilton Hotel in Mayfair last Sunday, the award ceremony was attended by Bollywood stars, MP Rushanara Ali and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
Earlier this year, Bayleaf was crowned the Times Series restaurant of the year 2014.
Mr Miah is now considering entering the British Curry Awards.
