Two pupils won a coding workshop to help develop their computer skills.

Timbo Cole, 17, and Victoria Sinel, 12, from Hendon School, in Golders Rise, Hendon, attended the Appathon UK award ceremony at the House of Commons last Thursday, with more than 100 other finalists.

The team was entered for their app called ORBIS, which teaches young children about other cultures, and encourages them to practice a foreign language.

Despite not coming away with the main prize, they won the coding workshop.

They also got to meet Megan Smith, the US government’s Chief Technical Officer, who told them that Google Earth had started as a similar game to their app.
