A carnival will fill the streets with sound and colour as the community prepares to celebrate its annual Christmas fair.

The annual event will be held on December 7 in High Barnet and include a Punch and Judy show, music, dancing, food stalls and art exhibitions.

Father Christmas and his reindeer will also be making an appearance to find out whether children have made it on the naughty or nice list.

The opening procession will start off from Bruce Road, in Barnet, and arrive in the middle of High Street outside Iceland at noon.

It will include drummers, Star Wars characters and the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnet, Councillor Hugh Rayner.

The event has been organised by the sub-committee of Barnet Borough Council’s art council, including the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School, Macdonalds and Barnet Rotary Club, as well as others.
