Here's your guide to some of the best things to do in the week ahead:

  • The Three Degrees

Times Series: The Three Degrees

Formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, The Three Degrees are one of the longest-standing girl groups of all time. They’re universally loved for their soulful voices, great tunes, fabulous gowns and stunning stage shows. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear them belt out such classics as When Will I See You Again, Take Good Care of Yourself and Dirty Ol’ Man.

Wyllyotts Theatre, Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, January 30, 8pm. Details: 01707 645005, wyllyottstheatre.co.uk

  • Japanese Katagami Stencils

The In Conversation series with the MoDA museum curators begins again this year with a talk on Japanese Katagami stencils, hand-crafted in Japan in the mid to late 19th Century, which were used to print beautiful and intricate designs onto fabric. See and handle a range of different designs from the museum’s collection and learn how they were traditionally used in Japan as well as their significance for Western artists and designers as ‘exotic’ artefacts from the East.

Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture, Middlesex University, Boulevard Drive, Hendon, January 28, 2pm to 3.30pm. Details: moda.mdx.ac.uk

  • Raving

Briony and Keith are not finding parenthood easy. Their friends, the delightful Ross and Rosy, engineer a relaxing weekend away in Wales – intelligent adult company, good food and drink, complete rest, and absolutely no children. But they invite the unpredictable Charles and Serena to make up the numbers. Add to this an uninvited, anarchic adolescent and a fanatical farmer, and Briony and Keith’s idyllic weekend erupts into total chaos. A new production from Incognito Theatre.

Incognito Theatre, Holly Park Road, Friern Barnet, January 25 to 31. Details: 07912 875700, incognitotheatre.com
