Disney is making dream comes true at one primary school after it was given cash for sports equipment.

Brookland Junior School, in Hilltop, Finchley, will receive the money after one of its pupils was highly commended in a national healthy living competition, run as part of National Obesity Awareness Week 2015.

Adam Elkaffass, ten, secured a highly commended spot in his age category out of hundreds of entries after submitting a picture diary demonstrating how he remained active every day for a week.

The competition was launched in October as part of the preparations for National Obesity Awareness Week 2015, in partnership with Disney, to promote physical activity.

Children and young people across the country were asked to keep and submit a physical activity diary for a week or create a unique game to keep fit.

Matthew Grossman, vice president of corporate communications for the The Walt Disney Company, said: “The Walt Disney Company seeks to inspire children and their families to lead healthier lifestyles.

“National Obesity Awareness Week is a great campaign and we’re excited to be supporting the competition for the second year. The overall winner from 2014 used Disney’s funding to build an outdoor gym that benefited the whole school and we’re excited about how this year’s prize will inspire and benefit more children around the UK.”
