Nine out of ten Potters Bar residents are happy living in the borough, a survey has revealed.

The survey, conducted by Opinion Research Services on behalf of Hertsmere Borough Council, is carried out every three years with a random sample of residents.

Despite the current economic climate, 89 per cent of residents said they are satisfied with the way the council runs things and 84 per cent agreed that the quality of the services provided was good.

When asked about the area as a place to live, 90 per cent of residents said they were satisfied.

Council leader Councillor Morris Bright said: "We're really encouraged by the results of this independent survey. There have been difficult times financially in the past few years, which have meant we've had to make savings and look closely at all the services we deliver.

"We've tried to do that without affecting the quality of these services so I'm really pleased to see this is very positive set of results."
