A 102-year-old celebrated his birthday with four generations of his family.

Michael Davies, who lives at Rubens House, in Ballards Lane, Finchley, enjoyed his day in the company of his youngest great-grandson, Oliver, two.

Age did not stop Mr Davies from getting into the spirit of it by singing Yiddish duets with entertainer Moshe Tarrir.

Staff at the home joined the centenarian and his family for tea with the entertainer and his great-grandchildren helped blow out the candles on his cake.

Ivor Davies, Michael’s son, who lives in North Finchley, said: “In addition to attending a superbly arranged afternoon birthday tea, it is a privilege to be one of four generations separated by 100 years.”

Home manager Christina Nimako-Brago said: “It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by residents and staff, it was such a joy to celebrate reaching this milestone with Michael and all his family across the generations as we’ve got to know him so well over the last few years.”
