Detectives investigating a suspected murder are appealing again for information about a van seen in the area around the time of the victim’s death.

Milton Papadopoulos was found dead at his home in Parkfield View, Potters Bar, on October 22, 2014.

A white Vauxhall Combo van, believed to be a model made between 2002 and 2009, was seen in the area two days before his body was found.

The van was displaying number plates that read T531 RFE but these are known to be false.

Times Series:

Police are hoping to establish whether this van may have been in the Cuffley area before or after the discovery of the body.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Walker, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are still pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and believe the movements of this van could provide further clues that will aid our investigation.

“The Vauxhall Combo van, which was not displaying a tax disc and was carrying at least one ladder over the driver’s side, was using false plates and it is possible these plates may have been changed in the Cuffley area.

“If anyone remembers seeing a white van parked up, possibly somewhere unusual or secluded, and someone acting suspiciously near it, they should contact us as soon as possible.”

Since the start of the investigation a number of lines of inquiry have been pursued. Several people have been arrested and one charged in connection with the incident.

Police last week released details of a Rolex watch they believe is missing from Mr Papadopoulos's house.

Arkadiusz Szarkowski, 42, of Abbs Cross Gardens in Hornchurch, was charged with joint enterprise murder on March 12.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on September 2.

A 41-year-old man from Romford is due to answer police bail on April 29.

A 36-year-old man from Harold Hill is due to answer police bail on April 21.

Anyone with any information about Mr Papadopoulos's death, or who remembers seeing a van similar to the one pictured in the area at the time, should contact the Major Crime Unit’s incident room on 01707 355 666.
