A special ceremony marked 50 years of the London Borough of Barnet.
The authority was created 50 years ago and former mayors, councillors and MPs gathered at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, in Mill Hill, for a celebration on March 29.
Dancers and singers performed in front of a congregation of almost 200 people.
The borough's current mayor Councillor Hugh Rayner cut the cake to mark the anniversary.
Cllr Rayner said: “I was delighted to see so many people from the whole spectrum of communities which make Barnet such a diverse and varied place to live.
“It was a great honour to be able to mark the 50th anniversary of the creation of the London Borough of Barnet in such a delightful way.”
