Former EastEnders star Larry Lamb has thrown his support behind the campaign for a second air ambulance in London.

The actor has joined entrepreneur Richard Branson and supermodel Twiggy to back London's Air Ambulance's Your London, Your Helicopter appeal.

He also posted a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt supporting the air ambulance campaign on Twitter.

The charity hopes to raise £4.4million - and still needs £2.29m - to buy and maintain a second helicopter and extend its daylight flying hours for the next five years.

Mr Lamb said: “A Londoner born and bred, I'm hugely proud and full of admiration for the doctors and paramedics at London’s Air Ambulance who work tirelessly around the clock to save lives. One of those lives might someday be mine or someone close to me so I am committed to helping make sure London’s Air Ambulance always has a helicopter available.

“This charity provides such a remarkable service to everyone in our incredible capital all with just one aircraft. It seems outrageous to me that a city that so many people rated as the best in the world has only one emergency medical helicopter.”
