Bestselling children’s author Jacqueline Wilson gave pupils an insight into her writing during a school visit.

The writer, famous for novels including The Story of Tracy Beaker and The Suitcase Kid, visited Stormont School, in The Causeway, Potters Bar last Thursday.

Pupils quizzed the author on her favourite books, how she became a writer and where she finds inspiration for her characters.

Headteacher Sharon Martin said: “It was fantastic. She very kindly gave four hours of her time. She came in and had lunch with the girls, and they showed her round the school.

“She was inspiring them to write, and then she very kindly signed a book for all the girls. She told them how Tracey Beaker got her name. They absolutely loved it.”
