Elderly people have been tapping into their creative sides with a new art project.
Charity Create is working with people who attend the Michael Sobell Jewish Communtiy Centre, Rela Goldhill Lodge and Selig Court, in Golders Green.
They are running photography workshops with professional Zoe Childerley, and have been exploring the theme of ‘unity’.
The project will run until September and they will also be given the chance to take part in creative writing, sculpture and dance workshops.
Vicky Minsky, who works at the Michael Sobell Centre, said: “It’s great seeing members and residents from across the campus sharing ideas, learning together and building relationships with people that they might not otherwise meet.
“They are using the skills learnt to share their personal experiences with each other and develop friendships. Create has brought something very special to our campus.”
A total of 95 per cent of the people who attend the classes are Holocaust survivors.
