Pupils were given an insight into a day in the life of The Beatles during a visit from the cast of hit musical Let It Be.

The Fab Four paid a visit to Frith Manor Primary School, in Lullington Garth, North Finchley yesterday.

Year 4 pupils and their teacher Jane Airey joined the cast to sing hits including Yellow Submarine and Hey Jude, and quizzed them about the history of the band and what it was like playing their heroes.

Paul Canning, who plays John Lennon, told them: “It’s such a great job, because we all love The Beatles and we get to sing their songs to people.”

The West End musical, which also stars Luke Roberts as Ringo Starr, Emanuele Angeletti as Paul McCartney and John Brosnan as George Harrison, is on at the Garrick Theatre in central London.

It charts the band’s rise from their early days in Liverpool’s Cavern Club to their success in America and later albums.

Mr Brosnan described it as “the best job in the world”.
