An 85-year-old “champion” who helps people deal with hearing loss has won an award.
David Brooker, who lives in Finchley, was given the 'people's champion' award by charity Action on Hearing Loss for his work in helping out at the Barnet Hear to Help and Meet services.
He said: “I’m extremely honoured to have received a volunteering award from Action on Hearing Loss for helping people in Barnet who have hearing problems.
“I hope that this will inspire others to step forward and help Action on Hearing Loss and the volunteers we work with. Our aim is to provide help and support to anyone, like us, with a hearing loss.”
