The first anniversary of the hospital merger which created one of the biggest NHS trusts in the country has been reached.

Today marks a year since the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust merged with Barnet Hospital, in Wellhouse Lane, and Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield.

The acquisition means the trust now employs more than 10,000 staff, and serves 1.6million patients across north London and Hertfordshire.

David Sloman, chief executive of the Royal Free London, said: “This has been a hugely exciting time for the trust and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve in future.”
